Overview
The Community Dental Center is a nonprofit dental home dedicated to providing oral dental care for underserved and uninsured children and their caregivers.
| Through prevention, education, and treatment services, TCDC helps make a positive difference in the Greater Los Angeles area. Many such as Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles have recognized TCDC for their "systemic change approach to reducing oral disease in a dental home environment".
| I was a general UX web designer and my first paid client. I helped re-create the design system for the center, and re-designed 4 pages.
01. The Problem and Motivation
| Problems for the customers
| What's the background?
At the time, their website was created 10 years ago, many of the pages such as forms and bookings didn’t work, and their booking system was disorganized. The center didn’t know how to solve their challenges but knew that a new website would help.
| What's the goal?
We aim to help the TCDC make a social impact in lower income communities by helping families easily book appointments or donate to TCDC to gain TCDC’s resources.
The Community Dental Center challenged USC Innovative Design, a student-led design consultancy at University of Southern California to address their challenges. Their requirements were very broad and allowed us to take creative freedom. However, their wanted to solution to be aligned with the trends of the new generation. We were challenged to consider how technology can help underserved families in the community find dental care.

PROCESS CONCLUSION:
Separated the ‘About’ page to 2 pages which also included the appointment form. Consolidated the history to make it more readable. Added many photos and icons for userability.
